OPENING TIMES / ENTRY
The festival site opens for camping at 9am on Thursday 25th July (for Thursday Camping ticket holders only. Thursday tickets valid in conjunction with a full weekend ticket).
Gate opening times: 9am – 11pm
FRIDAY – SUNDAY
Gate opening times: Friday 9am – 11pm, Saturday & Sunday 9am – 9pm
Entry will not be allowed outside of these times so please plan your journey accordingly.
Entry to the festival is by advance ticket purchase only. No tickets will be available on the gates.
Age 11 to 15 Weekend Tickets must be accompanied by a ticket holding parent or guardian over the age of 30.
Also, all teens (aged 11 to 15) MUST camp in the same area as their families.
Teen Ticket holders (Age 11-15) are not allowed in the arena unaccompanied after 10pm.
ID will be checked at the gate and entry will be refused to those not accompanied by an adult aged 30 or older.
There are a limited amount of tickets for children up to and including the age of 5 to attend free of charge but their parent or guardian must obtain a ticket for them and accompany them at ALL times.
By purchasing a Child (age 6-10) Ticket, Infant (5 & under) Ticket or a Teen (age 11-15) Ticket you are confirming that you are either the parent or legal guardian of the teen or child for whom you are purchasing.
Alcohol is allowed into the campsite. The festival asks that each person brings only a reasonable amount for themselves to enjoy (note: no glass bottles).
Glass is not permitted on site.
No private sound-systems or generators will be allowed onto site.
Alcohol is not allowed to be taken into the arena. The festival organisers apologise to those who think this is unfair, however, Kendal Calling is subsidised by the profits made from the bar and without it they simply would not be able to bring you all the great acts and entertainment on offer without drastically increasing the ticket price.
Security and stewards are on site to assure you have a safe weekend of fun and frolics.
DSLR cameras are permitted on site for personal use. Any press related photographers should contact our press team in advance of the event.

WHAT TIME DOES THE CAMPSITE OPEN?
The campsite is open to all ticket holders at 9am on Friday 27th July. For those who have a Thursday ticket the campsite will be open from 9am on the Thursday 26th July.
WHAT IS THE LAST TIME WE CAN ARRIVE BY?
You can arrive until 11pm Thursday and Friday and until 9pm Saturday and Sunday.
WHAT TIME CAN I STAY AT THE FESTIVAL UNTIL?
The campsite will close at 2pm on Monday 29th July.
WILL THERE BE SEARCHES ON ENTRY?
As part of our license agreement our security team undertake general searches.
This is done for the safety and protection of all. Searches are done as in-obtrusively as possible and only with due cause.
WHAT ID DO YOU ACCEPT?
We accept Driving licenses, provisional or full, Passports and Citizenship cards as forms of ID.
CAN WE HAVE A PASS OUT FROM THE FESTIVAL IF WE NEEDED TO GO OFF SITE OVER THE WEEKEND?
We have a General Store selling essentials, a cash machine onsite, and plenty of food traders and bars so you will never go hungry or thirsty! If you do need to leave the festival over the weekend please email us and let us know and we can issue you a pass out to collect upon your exit from the festival so you will have no problems on re-entry.
Weekend tickets are the only tickets available for the festival, Kendal Calling doesn’t offer day tickets.
The festival operates under the same laws so you do need to be over 18 to bring, buy and consume alcohol on site.
WHICH BRANDS OF LAGER, CIDER AND WINE ARE AVAILABLE?
The festival has a great selection with everything from real ales to cocktails across various bars around the site.
Kendal Calling’s real ale festival features lots of different ale’s from breweries in the Lake District and even their own ale – Kendale and Oh Deer!
IS THERE A LIMIT ON THE AMOUNT OF ALCOHOL I CAN BRING?
The festival allows weekend campers to bring a reasonable amount of alcohol onto the campsite (enough for one person to consume).
CAN WE TAKE ALCOHOL INTO THE ARENA?
Alcohol is not allowed to be brought into the arena as there are some awesome bars for you to drink from. Plus it keeps ticket prices low.
WHAT ARE THE BAR PRICES?
As always Kendal Calling try to keep the bar prices in line with other festivals and offer our festival-goers good value.
WILL THERE BE A CASH MACHINE ON SITE?
We’re happy to say the festival has ATM cash machines on site. We’d still recommend bringing enough money for the weekend though as even a few minutes wasted queuing for cash is a few minutes wasted from a blinding weekend. The bars also offer card payment facilities.
WILL THERE BE SOMEWHERE I CAN BUY VITALS LIKE MILK AND TOILET ROLL?
Our General Store in the campsite Village Green will stock all the sorts of festival vitals that we’ve learnt you can’t do without.
WILL THERE BE COMPOST TOILETS?
Yes, Kendal Calling have compost toilets located within our Emperor’s Fields campsite.
CAN I CHARGE MY MOBILE?
You sure can, the festival has a phone charging station on site in the Village Green.
WILL THERE BE LOCKERS?
Yep, plenty of them to keep your valuables safe, located in the Village Green.
CAN I BRING MY OWN SOUND SYSTEM INTO KENDAL CALLING?
It is a condition of Kendal Calling gaining their licence that no private sound-systems or generators will be allowed onto the festival site.
ARE THERE ANY MORE ACTS TO BE ANNOUNCED?
The line-up for 2019 will be coming soon!
WHAT TIME DO THE HEADLINERS FINISH?
The main stage closes at 11pm, at which point there are lots of late night venues to explore until 3am.
WHAT IS THE DRUG POLICY?
Prevent illegal drugs getting on site.
Pursue anyone suspected of supplying drugs.
Protect our festival goers.
IS IT SAFE FOR KIDS?
Kendal Calling is a safe and family-friendly festival. The festival have a dedicated kids area with everything from a mothers and babies tent to workshops for teens and all ages. As part of the standard ticket there is a dedicated Family Campsite. As well as that, we recommend the Emperor’s Fields campsite to families as it is smaller in size and has all the facilities in one place. However, we must remind all that kids remain the responsibility of their parents & guardians and not the festival.
DO YOU RECYCLE THE RUBBISH?
Kendal Calling employ litter picking contractors who work to recycle the most they can from the waste coming from site. Please help the festival be greener by reducing the waste you create. Think about bringing less packaging and non-essentials with you when you pack for the weekend to help the festival look after the Deer Park.
WHAT IF I LOSE SOMETHING?
The info point is the place to report any lost property open 9am to 9pm. Overnight (9pm to 9am) it’s looked after by the campsite manager who’s office is also in the Village Green.
CAN I BRING MY DSLR CAMERA?
You sure can, get snapping and send Kendal Calling any classic pics you take! If you are taking press related photos, please contact the festival's PR team in advance.
CAN I BRING A DOG?
Due to Kendal Calling's licence, dogs are not allowed at the event except guide dogs.
