What is a Virtual Venue?
Since the ugly face of COVID-19 appeared on our shores earlier this year, we’ve seen a huge uptick in online and virtual events, giving people their much needed fix of music and interaction that’s been removed in the advent of social distancing and lockdown.
People will always want to cut loose, find some escapism and party, and virtual venues are a great way of capitalising on that while maintaining contact with your audience during this period of uncertainty.
While we cannot facilitate the streaming of your event, we can certainly help you sell tickets for it.
So how do you set this up?
All you do is create your event listing as normal. The only thing that changes is you would tag the venue as ‘Virtual Venue’. This clearly indicates that the event will be taking place online. Then you’d go about promoting your event as normal.
When the event nears, you can access all your customer email addresses by using this guide. You can then email each of your ticketholders with a direct private link to wherever you’ve decided to host your online event.
NB: We'd recommend keeping a record of the attendees that tune into your streamed show, just as you would using our RapidScan service. This way we can find out from you exactly who went in the unlikely event of complaints or refund requests.
Your virtual event will also appear in its own dedicated virtual event section on Skiddle, which is due to launch any day now... Keep 'em peeled.
