Tagging your event to a venue is a crucial part of the event set up process, and ensures your event appears in the right searches for customers looking for events in your city or town. We have over 100,000 venues listed on Skiddle, but despite that, every so often you may find that you are hosting an event at a venue we do not yet have in the database.
Here’s how you would list the new venue…
In the listing form, where you are creating your event listing, start to type in the name of your venue. If this does not appear from the drop down, click on ‘Venue not listed? Add New Venue’.
Then it’s just a case of filling in each of the required fields on the form that pops up. These are Venue Name, Address, Town, Postcode and Description. Images are preferable though not essential.
Please note that the more detailed the venue listing is, the better it ranks on Google, and the more chance you have of your event being seen by potential customers.
Save the venue, then on the next screen ensure the pin on the map is located in the correct place, and hit Save Location.
NB If this displays as located in the middle of the sea, then just google #venue name# coordinates. Then put these coordinates into the latitude and longitude boxes to get the correct placement on the map. Then hit Save Location.
This will then close the window.
Head back to the venue box on the initial listing form, and begin to type in the name of the new venue. This will appear at the top of the suggested venues. Click on the name of the venue, and this will now attach to your listing.
